FHIA has 4 committees always seeking new members…
-
The Urban Design & Public Space Committee works to make our neighborhood’s streets, parks, and plazas more welcoming, safe, and vibrant. We use collaborative strategies to partner with different community shareholders to advocate for thoughtful design, improved public amenities, and community-driven placemaking. Whether it’s reviewing new projects or reimagining underused spaces, we’re shaping a more livable First Hill.
-
The Clean, Healthy & Safe Committee is dedicated to enhancing quality of life across the neighborhood. We focus on issues like cleanliness, public health, and safety by partnering with local agencies, organizing community clean-ups, and advocating for improvements in lighting, waste management, and public safety services. We want to make First Hill a cleaner, healthier, and safer place for everyone who lives, works, and visits here.
-
The FHIA Transportation Committee advocates for safer, more accessible, and connected mobility options on First Hill. From bike lanes to bus routes, we brainstorm and work to ensure the neighborhood’s unique needs are heard. Partner with local organizations such as Seattle Neighborhood Greenways and Historic Downtown Seattle to hear more about local transportation efforts. Join us to explore the perks and challenges of getting around First Hill!
-
The Membership & Outreach Committee helps build a stronger, more connected community. We work to engage neighbors, welcome new members, and spread the word about FHIA’s events and initiatives. From planning gatherings to managing communications, we’re all about bringing people together and making sure every voice on First Hill is heard.
